Prevention
- Every participant has a risk assessment and, where needed, a safety plan that workers must follow.
- Workers are trained in manual handling, medication, infection control and behaviour support relevant to their role.
Responding
- Immediate safety comes first: workers call 000 where there is danger to life or health.
- All incidents are recorded the same day and reviewed by a manager.
- Participants and their nominated contacts are informed and supported, including access to advocacy or counselling.
Reporting and learning
- Reportable incidents are notified to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission within the required timeframes.
- We complete root-cause reviews and change practice, training or rostering where needed.
